We recently started a series of posts on establishing the pre-money valuation of pre-revenue startup companies for purposes of investment by seed and startup investors. It has been used by angels since, however Dave updated the model for 2009 ACA Leaders Workshop in Richardson, TX. He has invested in more than 70 startup ventures.

One occurrence of this was in Q1/Q2 2009. In August/September 2009, the founders and I agreed to work together to raise a round of financing for the company. Modista had only had modest revenue to date (~5K) and had by no means gotten to the point where it was having an impact on the revenues of Like.com.
