They were able to “buy&# the affiliate business because they had the Google.com cash cow. Google had huge destination traffic.

Paid - if your product monetizes customers better than your competitors, you have the opportunity to use your lifetime value advantage to drive growth. In this model, you take some fraction of the lifetime value of each customer and plow that back into paid acquisition through SEM, banner ads, PR, affiliates, etc.

I am slowly going away from Google Analytics in favour of Clicky (although this is an affiliate link, I genuinely recommend this tool). What are they looking for in your website?

We’re not actively marketing the product anymore, but it’s still on Clickbank and makes us money as affiliates pick it up. Take advantage of affiliate networks like Clickbank. Listen to your customers. I put together an awesome team, we worked months on a product and in April 2010 we launched Traindom.
