His most recent company, Filtrbox, participated in the inaugural Techstars class (Techstars Boulder 2007) and was a win for all parties involved; Filtrbox was acquired in 2010 by Jive Software (NASDAQ: JIVE). No updates, screen comps, or metrics have been publicly shared yet. Three months in, the burn is now at $70k/month.

We were not the first, nor are we the only, but in 2010 it was a very large, very dusty, and very dry desert landscape. A few folks, like our friends over at Bolt, have written great blog posts on this , but I fear that they are being overlooked, unlike the 3,671 blog posts on SaaS software, especially around SaaS metrics.

There’s a fun post from Ben Horowitz in 2010 titled The Revenue of the Fat Guy that weaves in comments from Fred Wilson about product/market fit where Fred argues in his post Being Fat Is Not Healthy. This is where myth #3 bops you on the head. You get confused about negative churn and conflate upsells with growth with churn.
