Shippo integrated with USPS ePostage , making them one of only a few public APIs for purchasing US postage online. If you’re not familiar with Shippo, they’re a shipping API for ecommerce platforms and stores: stores can check rates across multiple carriers, get discounted shipping labels, track parcels, etc.

I think Twitter made a minor gaffe by announcing their Blackberry app and their acquisition of Atebits (Tweetie) before the Chirp conference. And I saw a lot of this first hand in Salesforce’s acquisition of my company, Koral, which was a content management company. We didn’t have the resources to do it all.

Machine-learning as-a-service dies a death – main reason: machine learning APIs are two dumb for AI experts and too difficult for AI novices. Machine learning APIs aren’t solving a problem for anyone. This reached the point where $m per PhD was talked about as an acquisition metric. They don’t have a market.

The smartphone is for everyone, we don’t have to think the iPhone is about a certain demographic, or country or vertical market: it’s for everyone. The same can be said of Facebook and its acquisition of Oculus, along with its recent full-frontal assault against Snapchat AR filters and lenses. I think AR is that big, it’s huge.
