I’m off antibiotics, feel well-rested, and have renewed energy as Q4 begins. I’m in the middle of Fantasyland: How America Went Haywire: A 500-Year History which is incredibly awesome, so once I finish it I’ll queue up some more fiction. I’m feeling a lot better.

Book: Across That Bridge: Life Lessons and a Vision for Change

Saturday is reading, running, resting, and playing with Amy day. When I read and reflect on this history, I’m embarrassed, horrified, and furious with elements of White America. Digital sabbath. I was tired from the week and slept for ten hours. I also took a 90-minute nap in the afternoon.

For the rest of the day, I sat around in my PJs. I had a great digital sabbath yesterday with Amy and my friends Dave and Maureen. I had a cold so I took a three hour nap in the middle of the day. I read Philip K. Dick’s The Man in the High Castle.

Me and My Colonoscopy

A right of passage in America when you turn 50 and have good health insurance is a colonoscopy. On the other hand, my 15 years of running is paying off, as demonstrated by a resting heart rate of 50 and a blood pressure of 105 over 67. I had a two hour run scheduled today that’s not going to happen. I turned 50 in December.
