Many angel investor groups charge entrepreneurs a fee to present to their members. applaud the handful of angel groups that do not charge entrepreneurs presentation fees. However, most groups do charge fees ranging from several hundred to several thousand dollars.

In 2004 James Surowiecki, New Yorker business columnist, wrote the Wisdom of Crowds which recognizes that the opinions of groups is routinely more accurate than those of most individuals in the group.  In particular, the author demonstrates that large crowds consistently outperform experts within the group in decision-making.
