We needed improvements in video compression and in TCP/IP – the underlying protocol that essentially runs the Internet. Napster just happened to have been first. That’s the ideal case.

And adding Flash makes it even more compelling). Here’s the test: how hard is it to write Boxee’s UI or any STB UI as a full-screen JavaScript or Flash app?
