Some of the big guys (notably Google, Facebook, LiveJournal) have embraced open source and the results are trickling out to us. Cloud computing” is simply a new pricing plan for hosting. Is the technology open sourced? Nothing quite like that is available on the market, but there might be, soon.

In March I wrote about Standing Cloud ’s public launch of a free service to test drive open source applications. As reported today in TechCrunch, Standing Cloud has now launched it’s Business Edition , a service that enables users to also host applications on any of four cloud providers.
