As the farm fields flew by on the interstate I listened as Dave described how he translated his vision into a series of hypotheses and mapped them onto a business model canvas. My contract developers building the app aren’t very responsive. Having a coder as part of the founding team is essential. Customer Discovery.

In cohort one, 25 teams chosen from a field of 100+, worked fulltime for eight weeks to take their ideas from a “cocktail napkin” business idea to a viable, scalable business model. Second, technology education is more skill-based, graduating lots of smart coders and IT managers, but not a lot of true development visionaries.

When I got to college, I did not see myself as a full-time coder, so I majored in biology, which was my favorite subject at the time. That's where I learned I enjoyed interacting with customers and working with development teams to build and launch products. Like many product managers, my background is fairly eclectic.
