Today my friends from GoodApril, who went through the Techstars Boulder 2013 program, just gave $20,000 to EFCO to help with the victims of the massive Boulder-area floods. Our startup, GoodApril, had been acquired by Intuit (maker of TurboTax) in the final days of the TechStars Boulder accelerator program.

I’m doing a couple of things – the main being mentoring at StartLabs , a one month program for undergrads starting up companies. All of the teams in the program (seven of them) are hanging out at RedStar , the offices created by two of my frat brothers – Joe Chung and Jeet Singh. The energy is awesome.

It is easy to get caught up in all the administrivia of of forming a company, building a business plan, and developing financial forecasts that you fail to spend time building your product.
