I had to clear my cache in order to fix the issue, however, I also had to be completed logged out of Facebook as well, or else it would automatically try to reconnect again. It was a pain. Other than issues like that, I typically enjoy not having to create tons of new accounts with websites now, if I can simply login via Facebook.

This is true of most web application servers, caches like memcached, and all of the network infrastructure that connects them. For example, you might notice that caching gets a lot easier if you have good metadat about which queries are associated with the same entity. When we started IMVU in 2004, we could rely on a staggering amount of open source software that jumpstarted our initial product offering. The next time you needed to handle that page, you could take advantage of caching for excellent performance. The only relevant "issue" you described is the large library of inbuilt functions.
