2nd Day of QwikTalk’s Life
I launched QwikTalk “softly” on Friday and this is now the second business day for my fledgling startup project. By softly launching, all I wanted to do is get a few calls coming through the system and making sure everything is working as expected on our production environment. We did run in to a couple snags, but those are now sorted out and things are moving along once again. A few calls have been successfully completed now.
If you have questions in Excel, SEO, or SEM – we’ve got a fantastic network of experts ready to answer calls. Give us a try.

Lessons Learned so Far:
· Adwords is not as immediate as I thought. It takes several hours for Google to start running the campaigns and then even once they do, it will take a bit of time for the impressions to ramp up.
· It sucks having no data. Trying to iterate on optimize on very few (or zero) visits is really difficult. It’s tough to resist the urge to extrapolate based on a tiny amount of data. Need to remain confident and have the conviction not to change things so fast that you lose the ability to truly learn based on the data.
· In the first days of a startup, the roller coaster ride of emotions causes you to second guess things constantly. A few hours can go by with no traffic and you might start thinking up radical changes to the business. I think this is why so many entrepreneurs are excited about the PIVOT. The pivot seems to me a way in some cases to change your mind and have it be viewed as smart and productive rather than lacking conviction and dedication. I already have half a dozen possible pivots in mind should things not go as planned. I believe the art that we all as entrepreneurs need to figure out is when to pivot. Too soon lacks conviction. Too late you’re already in to hopelessness.
