Yesterday Techstars announced the launch of Techstars Kansas City. This is a city-based horizontal accelerator similar to the ones we have in Boulder, Boston, Seattle, Austin, New York City, London and Berlin. I have a long history with Kansas City.

TechStars is coming to New York City. When we went about setting up the NY program, we evolved our funding model to be as inclusive of the local VC / angel community as we could. The first program runs from 1/10/11 to 4/8/11. Applications are open now.

I was in New York City after a red-eye from San Francisco, landing at 6 a.m. In this case, I was teaching a lot, mostly around “Startup Communities”. The last three months of 2001 were awful for me after an 18-month stretch from the peak of the Internet bubble — spring 2000 through Sept. At one level, I was exhausted.
