How to Write Blog Posts that Increase Conversion Rate?

blog posts that increase conversion rateYou’ve started a great blog and you’re really happy with the look, layout, and content and the traffic is starting to pour in. What’s everybody’s next question? How do I convert that traffic into real leads? These 8 tips are sure to help you increase that conversion rate.

  1. Know your audience

Before you write a single word it is important to think about who are you writing for and what they are looking for. Knowing your audience will help you decide what information is most important to include and will influence your word choice, tone, and style. Once you know whom you’re writing for you, you can decide the best way to address and reach your audience.

  1. Write engaging headlines

Without an engaging headline, there’s little chance your post will be noticed or shared.  We’re not supposed to judge a book by its cover, but most will judge a blog post by its title. Your title might be the most crucial element in determining its success. Luckily, there are some great tools and apps out there for you to help you draft memorable, effective headlines.  Check these out the next time you want to make sure your post has the title it deserves.

  • Portent is a great title maker that is easy and quick to use.
  • BoomEssays is a professional writing service based in UK that can deliver fast results in case you need writing or editing help.
  • Tweak Your Biz also has a very good title generator on its website. It’s especially helpful and effective for social media titles and headlines.
  • WestEgg has a really neat cliché finder that is fun and effective.
  • Essayroo writers is a one-stop writing solution site that can help you with everything from headlines to editing completed posts.Help solve a real problem

Yes, this may seem obvious, but it’s not. If you want people to become customers your blog posts need to show them that you hold the key to solving their problems. If you sell bicycles, share tips on how to pick the right bike for someone’s needs. If you sell financial services to retirees, explain to people how to apply for Social Security. Get creative, but always keep in mind you need to be solving a potential client’s problems.

  1. Use bullet points

Did you notice the bullet points in section 2? See how they break up the text. Use lists, paragraphs, and bullet points to break up your blog post into easy to read and absorb sections. You do not want your blog to appear as a wall of text. Most readers skim articles before deciding whether to read them, so having the post visibly divided helps guide them to the most important parts of your post.

  1. Add effective images

No, not just any image will do. It needs to be an effective image; it needs to tell the story of your blog post in one picture. Our brains process an image faster than text so it’s important to have an image that effectively conveys your intention. Be mindful of copyrights and make sure to credit the photographer.

  1. Optimize for SEO

While it’s very important to keep SEO in mind when drafting posts, we do not recommend writing for SEO. You can maximize your SEO ranking without negatively impacting your writing by keeping these tips in mind:

  • add proper meta data (title and description);
  • optimize for keywords and use related variations; and
  • interlink content.
  1. Call-to-action

You want your readers to get engaged with you, your writing, your company, and your products. Ask them to share their thoughts or comments. Ask them to follow you on social media. A call-to-action stands out and is easy to accomplish. It invites the reader to engage with you and makes it easy for them to accomplish.

Bonus tip: increase site speed

Your site must, must, must load quickly.  A slow load time will result in abandonment on the part of the customer. 47% of consumers report that they expect a webpage to load in two seconds or less. A load time even one second longer equates to a 7% reduction in conversions.

These are some of the most effective ways we’ve found of increasing your conversion rate. What tips and tricks have you found? We’d love to know. (Yes, that was our call-to action.)
