McCain's VP Pick

In Costa Rica on vacation, so a little late on the pickup (and pardon the political content here), but doesn't McCain's VP pick feel a bit like Harriet Miers Part II?

back to the beach!

My thoughts exactly.

I'm expecting a "Nope, just kidding. Here's our real nominee next week in St. Paul."

That's an interesting observation, and I want to agree, but my agreement would be based on my simplistic political philosphy ('Anything related to Bush is probably bad; McCain is strongly related to Bush; Therefore, this is probably bad'). I think you're brighter than me, and likely have a much better reason for this conclusion. Care to share, so that I can shamelessly crib from you?

1. Yes. Out of all of the women or ethnic minorities in the US, it seems those often nominated/appointed do not reflect the views of their 'identity' group but aim to demonstrate external support for that group.

2. You're in CR?? WHAT. I just left there last month! Hope you're having a great time and can't wait to hear what you think.

IMHO, both show poor judgment of the appointer (and stink of cheap pandering).

Depends on what the appointers trying to say, I guess. "I'm an idiot" comes to mind, but I'm sure thats not the case.
