I n its first investment in Israel, Russian search engine Yandex is rumoured to invest $3.4 million in Israel’s Face.com , a startup developing face recognition technology. As a result of the investment, Yandex’s CEO Arkady Volozh is now a member of Face.com’s board.

Earlier this week YL Ventures announced a 7-figure USD investment in Israel-based Seculert , a new non-intrusive Security-as-a-Service that comprehensively detects cyber threats affecting corporate networks. The bad news are that such a attacks are on the rise. The exact sum was not disclosed.

Israeli startup Outbrain , one of the leading companies in the recommendations space, has completed a $35 million in Series D led by Index Ventures and joined by previous investors Carmel Ventures and Lightspeed Venture Partners. This brings Outbrain’s funding to $64 million total since its inception in 2007.
