mig33, one of the world’s largest mobile-first communities, earlier this week announced its new developer program, releasing a slew of resources for developers that want to build social games and apps for its 50 million registered users. The company also introduced 12 new initial development partners, including China’s Kooky Panda, Indonesia’s Elasitas, India’s Nazara, Indigo Entertainment from India, as well as Singapore’s The Mobile Gamer.

The company is also opening its social platform that leverages the API specification standardized by Japanese social networking service GREE, which mig33 CEO Steven Goh says can be ‘a mobile developers’ dream’. “In just the past two years, mig33 has almost doubled in size, forged partnerships with developers, retailers and more, and has allied with handset makers across Asia and beyond,” Goh says. “Our focus has been on delivering mobile social entertainment within a huge delivery network that generates fun for our users and revenue for our partners.”

Mobile development companies have been quick to see the upside of the reach and scale offered by the opening of its platform. “mig33‘s developer platform provides unprecedented access to markets that are otherwise hard to penetrate,” explains The Mobile Gamer CEO Alvin Yap (whom we interviewed earlier) on their reasons for partnering mig33. “They also have an engaged community ready to embrace social gaming,” he adds.
