Testing the Google Pixelbook

What percentage of your time on a computer is spent in the browser? For me, that number is about 95%.

Email, calendar, dashboards, blogging, research…all of this is done through a browser. And not just any browser, but Google Chrome.

Due to that, and the fact that I have a Pixel phone, I decided to give Google’s new Pixelbook laptop a try.

It’s a Chromebook, which means it only has a browser and it can run Android apps (which for me include Evernote and Slack.)

I’m only a few days in and so far, it’s a terrific machine. Two big pluses for me: a) when I can’t connect to WiFi, the laptop automatically connects/tethers to my Pixel phone for an internet connection, and b) my phone unlocks my laptop so I don’t have to enter a password.

I’ll update after about a month with how it’s going, but so far after three days it’s the only laptop I’ve used and I’ve had no issues.
