WORSHIP SUNDAY: When the Saints Go Marching In performed by Lost & Found - I have been remiss in not posting more bluegrass. I felt it was a good time however to throw some up here given the past week of highlighting the best in shred guitar. Now worship is not some time to show off or anything as the focus is on giving glory to God. However, if you listen to a lot of gospel bluegrass, you will hear plenty of very technically brilliant, yet divinely worshipful, music performed by immensely talented musicians, proving the two are not mutually exclusive.
Lost & Found is a recent discovery and like many bluegrass bands, they released an all-gospel album. This revision of the classic New Orleans gospel hymn When the Saints Go Marching In. It is a jazz standard that gained fame when first popularized by Louie Armstrong and since then has been performed by numerous artists from rock to jazz to techno. While this is not some shred-tastic speed fest, there is some fairly impressive chops here.
