They should have a track record of originating and closing equity deals, and should have a long list of potential financing sources that are willing to take their call. Not so much that it slows you down, but enough so that you smoothly run and grow the engine. Running a company can be lonely.

Look at online advertising rates for your potential product keywords, industry publications ad rates, search engine optimization fees, and any other advertising avenues you’d like to pursue. Sign that person to an NDA if necessary. Research the cost of advertising your product. If it's not financially viable, abandon it.

You need a Co-Founder, not an Engineering Bitch. Lots of business-y, idea-type people who say they’re looking for a co-founder are, in reality, looking for what is best described as an “engineering bitch.&# Date for a bit, then split the equity. When you’re hiring folks, don’t promise equity upfront.
