While Metaverse rose to fame initially due to Facebook’s name change into ‘Meta’ to express their ambition to become a Metaverse company within 5 years (and perhaps deflect some of the negative PR), there are now many large companies, startups and brands working on their metaverse strategy.

Several “experts” in marketing and advertising, and IP lawyers, tried to talk me into changing it. So if you were to use Google or any other search engine, your name would be lost in the crowd. I got an engineering degree and worked on various entrepreneurial projects but my heart was always in data science and analytics.

Unlike product, which is harder to reason about, backend engineering is fairly objective (optimize page load time, uptime, etc.) have serious security problems and seem to be able to weather a small PR storm. Run with extra load. Pretty standard.
