Here’s some anecdotal evidence: Sales team pitched a prospect with the usual 3min introductive verbatim, later to discover that the prospect was already very familiar with our technology, as the prospect was already one week into integrating with Lokad. As a result, the pitch was less than useful, and the sales team appeared clueless.

But I wonder if one answer could be that there are these other technology companies like this one I’m talking about. I wonder if another technology company in which you don’t compete, so that then doing one thing means they wouldn’t do the other and yet you’re both going after the same people. Jason: Why?

The real reason they're pissed is that VCs are increasingly unnecessary to get companies started , both because of inexpensive technology and marketing channels and because there are enough angel investors that founders don't have to sell the entire farm for ridiculous amounts of cash they don't really need.
