While there’s still plenty of that in the system, many of the products and services are maturing and the particular segment Standing Cloud has gone after has suddenly become incredibly important to a large number of hosting, managed services, and cloud providers (often the same thing) not named Amazon.

But basically any big IT player has an offering, like  Microsoft Windows Azure ,  Google Compute Engine , and  IBM SmartCloud , to name a few. This means you can deploy e.g. Java code to such an environment, the Java Virtual Machine (JVM) and other runtime packages are already available as a service. is welcome!

When I type in the name of my son and Sushi, I get just one photo back! If I type in his name and the word beach , I get pictures of him on a beach… throughout his entire life! Even at his young age he programs in Java, he has learned Perl, JavaScript, and other web technologies. Photos can keep track of him from baby to today.

My Experience Back in 2002/2003 I spent hours writing a sales letter and emailing it to 15 local design firms, offering my services as an outsourced development staff (I coded in PHP,NET and Java at the time). In the end you have to invest time to build your name. In my case, and I’ve heard this is typical, it was years.

Leverage product development with open source and third parties. For example, early on at IMVU, we incorporated in tons of open source projects. At least in strongly typed languages such as Java. So far, this is all an academic exercise in naming - but I think it has an important real-world effect.
