Provigent, which was founded in 2000, raised $55 million from international and Israeli venture capital firms. Facebook is acquiring Snaptu, an Israeli startup that makes Java-based feature phone apps, for an estimated $70 million. Companies that open research centers in outlying areas of the country will enjoy higher subsidies.

AI is not a market, AI is embedded in every application: AI is not a market, it’s an enabling technology just like Java, wireless, and blockchain are. This Chief Data Officer will also be responsible to manage the impact of GDPR (see above). Some call this “ambient AI” and I just call it software.

Find the target market: I think I’d like to go after computer science and MIS grads who have prior inclination towards technology, but haven’t yet gained enough applied training to be usable to a startup—taking someone from a few school JAVA projects or maybe even nothing more than IT management courses to Ruby proficiency.
