I’m excited to introduce MATCH: Marketers Aspiring to Change Humanity

As I try to find ways to do more to help our community and generally “do more” (more on that here and here and here), I’ve created an organization called MATCH. The idea is fairly simple: match digital marketers/technologists with non-profits or other community groups.

I’m on several non-profit boards and I’ve learned over time that they desperately need digital marketing help (stretches their dollars and allows them to reach more people and create advocates), yet they rarely have it. I’ve also learned that there are a great many talented people in the digital marketing space that desperately want to help with various causes but don’t know how to get connected.

The rules are fairly simple: teams of 4-6 digital marketers or technologists will be paired with three non-profits. They will meet with those non-profits once a quarter for 1-2 hours. The teams will give advice and help in any way they like, with no commitment past the quarterly meetings.

I’ve been piloting the idea with a team for over six months and it seems to be working well so far, with both sides (the team and the non-profits) expressing great benefits from the program.

I’m working with Vlad on this (who also wrote a great post yesterday on this topic) and we spun up a website: matchatlanta.org. On the site, you can:

– Sign up to lead a team

– Sign up to be added to a team

– Sign up your non-profit to be paired with a team

Pretty simple. So sign up and please help us spread the word!
