Ice Cold Ice by Hüsker Dü - I’ve got Minnesota on my mind, or at least that is what it feels like outside since yesterday. To be fair though, 17 degrees in NYC is way better than the -17 degrees Fahrenheit in Minneapolis. I figured it was appropriate then to keep warm by spinning some tunes from Minnesota natives Hüsker Dü this morning.
Their last album, the double LP swan song Warehouse: Songs and Stories is a mixed bag. It is obvious that the band is at their breaking point with Hart and Mould battling to make their own statements. While the album is their best sounding, too many of the twenty tracks feel like filler. Ice Cold Ice however is one of the standout tunes bringing out the best of the classic Hüsker sound.
