Venture Capital Firm Ventech Expands Into Scandinavia

French Venture Capital firm Ventech expands towards the Nordics to reach innovative new companies. The office opened in Helsinki will be Ventech’s fourth base-camp, after successfully setting up a shop in Paris, Shanghai and Munich.

The company also appoints Tero Mennander to lead the effort in the Nordic region, who tells they’ll concentrate on tech investments with a large-enough focus from infrastructure plays all the way towards web and mobile services.

“Hot list for 2016 could include public or hybrid cloud transition, vertical SaaS deployments, natively mobile services and fintech or insurtech,” hints Mennander. They haven’t done yet any investments in the Nordics.

“We are committed to address the area on a long term basis. From Helsinki, our natural playground will lead us maybe to start with Finland and Sweden, but immediately after address Denmark, Norway and the Baltics,” tells Mennander about their expansion plans in the region.

Mennander describes that their first investment sizes vary from €2 million to €5 million, that can reach up to €10m over the life of a venture.

“We also operate a seed program which aims at co-investing very early with Business Angels and which allocates €100 000 to €250 000 tickets,” he adds.
