US Angels put $9.2 billion to work in the first and second quarters of 2012, a 3.1% increase from the same period a year earlier, according to estimates by the Center for Venture Research at the University of New Hampshire. For all of 2012, the Center estimates that US angel investment deals increased 3% and total investment dollars rose by 3% to 4%.

I believe there is no better time for startups to startup anywhere, particularly now with tools like AngelList gaining prominence and allowing entrepreneurs and investors to connect from anywhere. This comes at a good time fpr entrepreneurs as this statistic demonstrates regarding the growth in US angel investment over the past year.
