As part of this, TechStars announced the TechStars Network , an affiliation of TechStars-like programs across the country along with our commitment to the Startup America Partnership to help 5000 experienced mentors work with 6000 entrepreneurs to create 25,000 new jobs by 2015.

West Slope Startup Week (WSSW) launched last week (this year in a virtual format) — a full month of online programming open to businesses across the state. Programming includes sessions from people such as Energize Colorado (EC) CEO Wendy Lea and myself. Equally innovative is the new element of digital mentorship.

The other is an OpEd for CNBC written by Seth and Elizabeth Macbride titled Stampede for emergency loans is crushing lenders, putting millions of small businesses at risk. We believe that many VC-backed companies will look at their businesses and determine that there is a clear and real need for the funds offered through PPP.

They are focused on fostering small business development and entrepreneurial activity amongst under-networked and under-resourced populations in communities that have been traditionally overlooked for economic investment. They also locate their programs outside, but near, communities that are traditional hubs for entrepreneurship.
