Once a startup has raised seed capital, plenty of theories and advice exist on how to successfully raise a Series A. However, large, lifecycle VCs who invest in a seed round seem to correlate to an increase the size of the Series A raised by a given startup. Generate Real Revenue. There was no meaningful difference.

Stock options for all employees of startups served several purposes: Because startups didn’t have much cash and couldn’t compete with large companies in salary offers, stock options dangled in front of a potential employee were like offering a lottery ticket in exchange for a lower salary. It’s called Growth capital.

I’ve seen way too many startups spend all their energy getting channel deals done only to find out that they don’t produce ANY revenue. The price points are not as high as your beautiful Excel spreadsheet had forecasted when you raised your seed capital. Full Stop for you Brits.)

I would focus on one product and set a goal to generate $1M in yearly revenue from it. Outsourcing is something a big company, with a known customer / problem (that has revenue & traction) does to save cost. I have a proposal written up including full cost and revenue projections. Once you’ve done that – then. 5% I believe.
