Wait For Complementary Technologies to Mature - Apple didn’t pioneer the smartphone but obviously the iPhone rightly deserves credit for defining the category and making it a global mass market. By finding a way to work out out this kink they’ve grown larger than all the other consumer cloud storage products out there.

In more recent decades, additional technology has come to market to assist drivers. But the underlying technology for perceiving the environment, mapping routes, and making decisions about unexpected situations all have a lot more work that needs to be done.

Tell me if this is “lame” Leader Technologies has won 11 infringement claims against Facebook. It expended 14M to develop a technology that was stolen. On the Leader case, I think I’ll just go against whomever the law says infringed, and cheer on whomever originated the technology, regardless of their size.

Let’s further assume that there are legal and financial frameworks that support this technological reality, e.g. insurance and liability law permits companies to manufacture and sell self-driving cars, Federal and state regulations have caught up with the technology, roadways that physically support the telematics that enable self-driving cars (..)
