The vesting schedule protects each of the co-founders in case one gets hit by a bus or decides to drop the project after a short period of time. Praveena is just like the other two founders, where her equity will vest over 4 years. Time to update the cap table.

I sold the FIL I got from investing in their SAFT as it vested (daily) and was amazed at how much money resulted. I accidentally bought twice as many bitcoins as I needed for an online programming course I took in 2013 for about $100 each.

Assume you hire someone and grant them 10,000 options with monthly vesting of four years with a one year cliff. That means that after one year, they get 25% of their options and then start vesting the remaining options monthly at a rate of 1/48 (208.3 options / month, or 2,500 / year.) This makes no sense to me.

Usually the vesting clock resets completely; sometimes a new owner will be extra generous and offer a shorter vesting term. While their stock options will be worthless (as is all equity) they are often immediately offered new stock option packages.
