On August 11, 1994, the first ever ecommerce transaction occurred when a 21-year-old in New Hampshire named Dan Kohn sold a copy of Sting’s Ten Summoner’s Tales to a friend in Philadelphia who paid $12.48 Though Kohn and Sting got the party started, the age of ecommerce didn’t truly begin in earnest until 1997. by credit card.

I can remember when creating a web site for eCommerce could easily require a million dollar investment. According to Fox Business , women-owned businesses have increased 68% since 1997, running more than 9.1 With more startups, angels still limit their focus to about one out of 40 requests. Women are a growing force as entrepreneurs.

I’d be curious what other people in-region think about this (and keep in mind, I won’t be doing the investing there, Shiyan will be :) ): 1) There are opportunities galore People like to use chronological analogies, so if I had to do that here, I would put investment opportunities in SEA at around 1997.
