One stage. Two days. Four judges. Nineteen startups. One winner.

The Startup Arena competition, part of Penn Olson‘s two-day Startups in Asia Singapore conference, saw nineteen startups from all over Asia battle it out, with Singapore-based social collaborative learning platform Teamie emerging victorious.

The Startup Arena combatants were chosen by the Penn Olson team from over 300 applications across Asia, and they were:

Second place finishers Innova Tech came in second, while Start Now finished at 3rd place.

Although Singapore-based Vibease – the teledildonics startup makes remote-controlled dildos – was a clear favorite, apparently sex isn’t quite on the minds of judges Ash Singh (CEO at InteractiveSG, investor at Angel’s Gate), Daniel Saito (co-founder and director at SkySQL, angel investor), Eric Koh (CTO at Jobscentral, partner at Iconic Ventures), and James Tan (co-founder of 55tuan, managing partner at QuestVC).

“Asia doesn’t lack for excellent tech startups,” concluded founder of Penn Olson Willis Wee. “This event has helped raise their (the startups’) profiles and has given them some great exposure in the investor and startup communities.”

“We’ll continue to follow them on Penn Olson going forward, and I can’t wait to see what they do next.”
