Innovation, disruption, accelerators, have all become urgent buzzwords in the Department of Defense and Intelligence community. Our defense department and intelligence community owned proprietary advanced tools and technology. In the 21st century you need a scorecard to keep track of the threats: Russia, China, North Korea, Iran, ISIS in Yemen/Libya/Philippines, Taliban, Al-Qaeda, hackers for hire, etc. “…it takes all the running you can do to keep in the same place. ”.

Each team of three to five students is being asked not only to become an expert on these complex topics in 10 short weeks, but also to learn and apply Lean LaunchPad methodology to put forth a solution. The teams live and die by the Lean Startup credo: “There are no facts inside the building so get the hell outside.” By week 7 (next week), the teams have either embraced the Lean process or we’re not going to get through to them. Time flies.
