My parents came from Haiti to the United States and did not have in-depth knowledge of what was required to obtain financial freedom in this country. We love seeing the impact of energy cost reductions, improved housing, and the fruit developed thru the use of this new technology. #16- Declare victory over finances. 18- Freedom.

In July 2015, I wrote about New Story asking readers to crowdfund one $6k house for a family in Haiti. In the past four years, New Story has funded over 2,200 homes, building 17 communities for over 11,000 people across Mexico, Haiti, El Salvador, and Bolivia. They have now come up with a unique model for scaling their impact.

My parents were immigrants from Haiti who didn’t grow up with access to computers in their homes and consistent electricity so there was only so much they could share with me about tech. Too many resources to name but the cost to enter and create has been lowered. Company culture is improving somewhat.
