Who won SXSW 2019? You can make a pretty strong case for Tankee, which is the first safe, digital destination for kids ages 6-to-12 years-old to enjoy gaming videos. This Austin-based startup won the Entertainment & Content category at SXSW Pitch. They also exhibited at the SXSW EDU Expo as well as the SXSW Gaming Expo. Moreover, the company’s co-founder and CEO Gerald Youngblood was part of a panel titled “ON-DEMAND: Gaming and The Most Connected Generation, Ever.”

Learn more about Tankee when I interview Youngblood at 4:00 pm on Tuesday, April 16 at Capital Factory as part of the PowerUp series from the Austin Chamber of Commerce. We’ll talk about his perceptions of SXSW 2019, as well as his views on the current state of kid-safe content online.

Prior to launching Tankee, Youngblood was the Senior Director of WW Marketing, Social, and esports for Advanced Micro Devices where he drove end-to-end strategy and execution primarily focused on driving AMD’s gaming brand including the go-to-market activation for Ryzen, one of AMD’s most successful high-end brands. He also led highly successful investments in esports marketing including partnerships with top gaming organizations FNATIC and Evil Geniuses. Youngblood oversaw internal teams spanning four continents and was consistently recognized as a top leader within the AMD organization receiving multiple awards.

RSVP here to attend the 4:00 pm Tuesday, April 16 PowerUp event.

Finally, speaking of amazing Central Texas startups, also mark your calendar for Thursday afternoon, May 23, which is the day for the Austin A-List awards celebration at ACL Live.
