Immigration Fundraiser: For Here or To Go

Feld Thoughts

A little over a year ago I wrote a post about a documentary Amy and I were helping fund called For Here or To Go. The movie is about a set of Indian software developers in the US on H1-B visas. The main character wanted to start a company, or join a startup, but couldn’t make either happen in the context of the current H1-B visa constraints. It felt relevant when we helped fund it.

Do you think you are flexible and coachable?

Berkonomics

As an early stage investor, the first test for me is whether “my” entrepreneur is flexible in both the plan and execution of his or her vision (since from experience almost everything about a business plan changes over time), and whether s/he, no matter what age or experience, is coachable. Doctoral theses have been written on this subject. Early stage investor groups often list these traits at or near the top of their list when filtering opportunities for investment.

What We Talk About When We Talk About Companies

Rob Go

A big chunk of our time as VC is spent on internal discussions about companies we are looking at. We believe strongly that when making investment decisions, it’s important to score opportunities quantitatively but make decisions based on conviction.
