For technologically inclined businesses, Texas has increased its STEM (Science, technology, engineering and mathematics) workforce by 34,000 since 2009. Idaho may be known for potatoes, but it should also be known as a stellar place to start a business. The state is geographically huge and boasts a diverse and growing population.

I grew up on a family potato farm in SE Idaho and I have a PhD in Engineering from Stanford (also known as The Farm). Additionally, in Colorado and elsewhere, there is a shortage of students entering STEM – Science, Technology, Engineering and Math. So I feel I have pretty good mix of horse sense and formal education.

This would do two things: contain the complexity of the systems Taariq has to work with right out of the gate, and help him go to market through the sales and marketing team of the analytics software vendors providing the core engine.

He lives in a small town in Idaho, so he can find out from Census.gov how many families live in his town. You have visits that you assume through organic search engine optimization. He can find out what the demographic of those families is and he can find out how many of them make a certain amount of money.

It’s your intention and it starts your intuition engine. The idea of a scanned, or traced field on a cathode ray tube came to him when he was plowing a field.
