Brazilian President Luiz Inácio (Lula) da Silva gave Israeli President Shimon Peres his final approval for a free trade agreement between Israel and the Mercosur bloc (Brazil, Argentina, Uruguay and Paraguay). Israel is the first country outside South America to implement a free trade agreement with the bloc.

It almost had like a social engineering component to it, as much as it was an algorithmic breakthrough. It was so amazing, like we were trying to send payments into Uruguay to pay people who are listening to their homes on Airbnb. We didn't know what the exchange rate was, we didn't know what their fees were.
