Jake Soberal and Irma Olguin started Bitwise in 2013 with the idea that the technology industry could be used to fix a city--in their case, Fresno, CA. Seven years later, they've trained about 5,000 students and created over 1,000 new technology jobs in Fresno. They are now operating in nine States.

That I’ve had a few “exits” and instead of hunkering down and writing code for 6 months I opted to talk to a few of my buddies at the yacht club and purchase a primed and growing social network for somewhere in the mid-seven figures. And the algorithm that made suggestions was operating at around 10-20% effectiveness.
