Perot Jain steps up to support Dallas entrepreneurs

We received a warm welcome from Trey Bowles when we first came to Dallas and there have been many others who have opened their arms to us since. Perot Jain, one of the most active early stage venture firms in Texas, is joining DivInc and The DEC to support our $100,000 Dallas Diversity & Inclusion Challenge and help us get the word out as far and wide as possible!

With their vast network in Dallas and across Texas, Perot Jain is a perfect partner to help make sure that every eligible entrepreneur hears about this opportunity. They are also helping us fund a social media campaign to reach people who might not already be coming to The DEC or other coworking spaces.

“Perot Jain is committed to growing the Dallas startup ecosystem and in particular helping more women and people of color to achieve the American dream through entrepreneurship,” said Joe Beard. “We are glad that Capital Factory is in Dallas and thrilled to see that they are also community builders who grow through collaboration.”

Many of the most successful entrepreneurs in Texas have banded together to give one startup from Dallas with a diverse executive team a $100,000 investment to try and change the world. Any tech or consumer startup in the North Texas area with at least one female or person of color on the executive team can apply on AngelList to pitch at our Funding Day on January 16, the day after MLK Day.

The best team that pitches at Funding Day will receive:

  • $100,000 cash investment on a SAFE or Convertible Note
  • Special access to an A-List of Texas’ top entrepreneurs who add value far beyond the money you received
  • 1 year of unlimited co-working at Capital Factory and The DEC
  • Access to the Capital Factory Mentor network
  • Company formation by startup law firm Kastner & Gravelle
  • Hundreds of thousands of dollars in free hosting credits from Amazon Web Services, Google Cloud, IBM Softlayer, Microsoft & Rackspace plus many other cloud services you use

This $100,000 Challenge is one of three that Capital Factory is running across Texas in 2018 as part of the Texas Startup Manifesto. We believe that Texas is the most promising technology investment opportunity in the United States and Capital Factory is going to turbocharge it. Already the 10th largest economy in the world, there is still untapped potential and more growth in its future. By connecting Austin, Dallas, Houston, San Antonio and the rest of the state into a Texas Startup Megatropolis we can unlock billions of dollars in capital and unleash thousands of diverse entrepreneurs.
