The writing is coming

I know I haven’t been blogging quite as much lately, but that doesn’t mean I haven’t been writing. I’m actually in the process of writing my first book, and I’ve built up a fairly consistent daily regiment to make progress. I’ll probably post more about the process I’m going through to write the book, with the help of a few friends, but for now I’d say I’m 20% through and I’m focusing on the proposal at the moment (for the publisher/agent side of the process.)

What has been difficult is trying to make progress on the book while also creating consistent blog content. This doesn’t happen to me often, but I sat down this morning to write a blog post…and couldn’t think of anything compelling to write. Sad, I know. But then I figured, what was on my mind was how hard it is to write both a book and blog content, so why not write about that. You know how you break through writer’s block? Write about writer’s block :)

Anyway, just thought I’d check in and say, sorry the content hasn’t been quite as consistent lately, but it’s for a good cause and I expect to ratchet back up…that is, until the Dragon Army blog is set up next week and then I’ll be writing there as well. Yikes.

I know you’ve always talked about writing a book, cool to see it starting to come to fruition. Good luck man!

Dude, I’d never have my first book be the show stopper! The BBQ recipes will likely be books 3 and 4 (obviously it will be two volumes). I’m starting with quick fix, meals in a pinch type of thing. You’ll love it, lots of Boston Creme Pies.

[…] As I mentioned last week, I’m in the process of writing a book. I’ve had ideas before about books I wanted to write, but this book (currently titled, Thrive, though I’m not married to that name) needs to be written now. […]
