What’s Wrong With the Twitter API via @orian
All the big Internet platforms create some level of API anxiety within their developer community. Recently Facebook got slammed at the worst of the API’s in a survey by Trove. This post goes deeper than most of the surface level carping about API’s and gets to the guts of matter, which in this case is the Twitter API.
My take is that some of these suggested fixes could go a long way in creating a better platform for developer and a better experience for clients. The author, Orian Marx, nails it when he states that Twitter is also a conversational platform despite Twitter insistence at being an information delivery service. The reality is that it does, and should continue, to serve both purposes without dictating the user experience to its 100 million users.
