We have previously raised funds in 1996 ($200 million), 2000 ($400 million) and 2008/9 ($200 million). But in Los Angeles, Santa Monica is akin to SoMa in San Francisco, Cambridge in the Boston area or Flatiron / Union Square in NYC. Let’s start with the fund. This month we closed our 4th fund of $200 million.

We also believe it’s important to be strong pillars of our community. Historically we were near Beverly Hills in Los Angeles and throughout the 1990s and early 2000s this was fine since there was not strong locus in LA with some great deals in Pasadena, downtown, San Fernando Valley as well as on the Westside in Santa Monica.
