I grew up on a family potato farm in SE Idaho and I have a PhD in Engineering from Stanford (also known as The Farm). That is because we do not sell, or use, anything other than “canned” software, for which we collect and remit appropriate sales taxes. So I feel I have pretty good mix of horse sense and formal education.
