I personally don’t view this as a binary answer – I do believe that banks have been slow to adapt to changing customer needs particularly in light of the 2008 financial crash. In all of these cases, new companies have emerged utilizing technology platforms to engage directly with the consumer, bypassing traditional intermediaries.
