Akamai just released its State Of The Internet report for the first quarter of this year, and Indonesia has gotten itself into the report for mostly the wrong reasons. That’s right: more than half of the total observed attack traffic originated from two countries – China and Indonesia – alone ( see chart on right ).

After being unseated last quarter by Indonesia, China has regained its spot as the source of observed attack traffic in the third quarter of 2013. Indonesia, which had surprised many by overtaking China the previous quarter , fell back to second place after its share of attack traffic fell from 38% to 20% this quarter.
