Maybe they’re stingy because they’re still being run by a parsimonious small-business founder (like me!) There are 220,000 businesses in America having 50-500 employees, and only 18,000 businesses with more than 500. Worst of both worlds. Why is it like this? Whatever the reason, it’s a tar-pit.
