Dont do PR upfront, dont put out a press release. It is a mystery actually whether the tagging of application as hot/popular has to do with the number of downloads or merely from the usage statistic. Or if your lifetime value is high enough, you can just keep spending on SEM. My advice: dont launch big. However, this is not the case.
